The last few weeks have seen a greatly improved use of Google Apps for Education at Stockholm International School ahead of our full switch over in January. One example is the use of Google Sites to “flip” eleventh grade economics and physics classes.
The concept of flipping the classroom involves making materials that students would usually access in the classroom available online. This means that students have a greater access to materials and resources relevant to the subject and that learning can take place any time from anywhere. By completing the traditional classroom activities at home, greater time can be spent in the classroom for reflection, discussion and learning from each other.
